Important Update: Graduate PLUS Loan Changes

Beginning July 1, 2026, Federal Graduate PLUS Loans will be discontinued. If you previously used the Grad PLUS loan or had planned to use a Grad PLUS loan for the 2026-27 academic year or beyond, we recommend connecting with our financial aid office early to ensure continuous funding for your program.

U.S. citizens or permanent residents interested in being considered for financial aid must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at the U.S. Department of Education website. A paper version of the form is available through our office or through the Federal Student Financial Aid Information Center at +1 800.433.3243.

To support your educational journey, we offer a variety of scholarship and funding opportunities for students enrolled in the LLM program.

Select Scholarships and Discounts

• Merit-based Tuition Scholarships: The School of Law offers merit-based tuition awards to select admitted applicants. These decisions are made through a committee process and take into consideration factors such as leadership skills, years of work experience, academic achievements and overcoming adversity. Merit-based scholarships can only be applied to tuition.
• Double Husky Scholarship: Our Double Husky Scholarship program provides all graduates with a bachelor’s degree from Northeastern a 25% tuition discount for enrolling full-time in the LLM program.
• Additional Scholarships: All students who apply by the scholarship deadline qualify for a 25% scholarship* if admitted into the program.

Northeastern Law partners with a broad range of employers through the AllCampus Workplace Network to offer eligible students and their family members a 10% tuition discount for the Master of Laws program .

Many employers also offer their own educational benefits and professional development funds that can be utilized for tuition assistance. To explore your options, we encourage you to speak with your employer about using workplace benefits to fund your degree.

Here’s how we recommend starting that conversation:

• Check your handbook or ask your HR department for established processes and guidelines around tuition assistance.
• Talk to other employees who have utilized your employer’s education benefits to get their perspective on the process and see if they have any tips on how to approach your request effectively.
• Build a case that your degree program is a smart investment for your position. Explain how the organization will benefit from your advanced skills, leadership experience and expanded network.
• Meet with your manager or supervisor with these talking points in mind.

Students can seek financial support from a wide range of public and private sources to help pay for some or all of their tuition and fees. You can also look through scholarship search sites like Scholarships.com and Fastweb.com, as well as local community organizations and professional associations.

If you wish to use a supplemental loan, such as a private educational loan, we recommend that you compare loan information and terms carefully. ELM Select allows you to compare private student loan rates and terms before borrowing.

If you wish to use a supplemental loan, your completed private loan application will be sent to the Loans Office automatically, who will then certify the loan once you have applied and your credit is approved. Certification can take up to 20 business days, depending on the volume of applications Northeastern Law has at any given time. For all supplemental loans, applicants may borrow up to the cost of education less any other financial aid received. Northeastern University and the School of Law do not not prefer, recommend, promote, endorse or suggest any of these lenders.

Northeastern Law is dedicated to helping veterans, servicemembers, and their families meet the cost of continuing or completing their education. Military-affiliated students are highly encouraged to explore additional funding opportunities.
